Ingredients
500g (1 lb) minced beef
half an onion grated
2 slices of bread crumbed
1 medium egg lightly beaten
Mixed herbs
Our secret ingredient - a big slosh of tomato sauce!
Method
- Getting the children to help, in a large bowl mix the
mince, grated onion and bread crumbs.
- Make a well in the centre and add the beaten egg,
combine the egg with the other ingredients.
- Stir in the herbs and tomato sauce. Cover and leave
to stand in the fridge if possible.
- Make the mixture into burger shapes (this can provide
a variety of shapes depending on who is helping you!!), the size is
up to you but bear in mind the larger or deeper burger will take longer
to cook. I cook mine on a baking tray in the oven and the time taken
depends on how my Aga is feeling! Check the burgers are cooked properly
before serving.
